VELUMANOHARAN Arts and Science College for Women is the first of the many projects that the Trustees of VeluManoharan Health and Education Trust have planned to implement in the coming years.The Trust has a noble mission “Empowering Women”.

Mr. V. Manoharan, the Founder and Visionary of the Trust is a well-known name in the business environs of South Tamilnadu known for his credibility and integrity. He has an incredible Vision of creating a cosmopolitan outlook in every girl who joins the College. The inculcation of the spirit of tolerance along with the determination to achieve & the desire to excel in all the endeavors of life through COMPETENCE without compromising CHARACTER is his inspiring agenda of empowering women and he deliberates that through this Enlightened Empowerment everything in life is Possible and Reachable.

The VMASCW is located at the trunk road of Devipattinam and Ramanathapuram Highway on a quiet serene area away from Ramanathapuram by only 4 kms, well connected by the roads of all the sides easily accessible to Paramakudi, Thiruvadanai, Rameswaram and Kamuthi. The campus has been designed to complement our Curriculum and as the optimum environment for 21st Century Higher Education, where every aspect of teaching and learning is supported by modern and relevant technology. The Silence and Peace, Tranquility and a Reason are the gifted environs to each & every soul at the VMASCW campus

• All the Courses offered by the college are affiliated to Alagappa University, Karaikudi
• In four years, it is envisaged to have at least twelve Under Graduate Programmes and five Post Graduate Programmes in relevant women specific job oriented areas of higher education and research.

• Application forms for admission can be purchased from the College Office by paying Rs. 120/- from April 15th onwards. Application duly filled in should be sent to The Principal, VELUMANOHARAN ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE FOR WOMEN, Marappalam, Peravoor post, Devipattinam ECR,Ramanathapuram – 623 504
• The duly filled in application should be submitted or sent along with a self-addressed post card on or before the date mentioned in the application form
• The selected candidates will be notified through the post with date and time for an interview to be present with their parent before the Principal. The fees for the offered course should be paid at the time of interview
• Admission for the entire course will be based on the merit under counseling method and personal interview by the college Selection Committee
• The original certificates will be submitted at the time of admission and be returned only (except Aadhaar Card) after the completion of the course. Thus students are requested to take Photo Copies of all the certificates including examination marks duly attested by a Gazetted officer before submitting to the college. No requests for return will be entertained during the middle of the Course
• No change of Course will be entertained once a student is admitted to a selected Course
• The student should pay the complete payable fees for the course of study (3 years), if she wishes to discontinue from the college
• Concession on tuition fee will be provided for students who have secured above 90% (75% concession) and from 80% to 90 % (50% Concession) for the marks scored in their HSE
• In the case of withdrawals, the Transfer Certificate will be issued on written request from the student, Counter signed by the parent and on the production of “no dues certificate” from the office, Library and all the departments concerned

College Timings: The college function from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. Students are not permitted to enter the campus after 9:30 a.m and are not allowed to leave the campus before 3:30 pm. Visitors are strictly not allowed to meet students during the academic hours.

Dress Code: All Students should wear churdithar with dhupatta. All students should wear their Identity Card inside the campus and in the bus. The Institution will not be responsible, if any gold ornaments or expensive items are lost.

Ragging: Ragging is banned in our institution. Any student found indulging in ragging will be punished appropriately as per the rules in force and as per the orders passed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. Any student who has been affected by an act of ragging shall make a complaint to the Principal.

• Attendance will be marked compulsorily from the day of reopening of the college
• Students suffering from sickness for more than 5 consecutive working days shall produce Medical Certificate
• Students must have 75% of attendance in each course for appearing the examination.
• Students who have below 60% of attendance are not eligible to appear for the examination. They shall re-do the semester(s) after completion of the programme

The Management offers various need based services to the students to excel in their academics and all round development of their personality to be successful in their career and face challenges in life.

• NSS (National Social Service) The Motto of NSS "Not Me But You", reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for self-less service. The college is in the process of implementing NSS unit in collaboration with Alagappa University to conduct activities to inculcate Devotion and Community service
• The Youth Red Cross is a voluntary service body of its mother organization, which supports Humanitarian Services to the fellow human being in Health related services to the community organized for students in Colleges and Technical Institutions

Certificate Courses of 15 hours duration are conducted to enrich the study skills of students from different backgrounds.
