VeluManoharan Arts and Science College for Women is the first of the many projects that the Trustees of VeluManoharan Health and Education Trust have planned to implement in the coming years. The Trust has a noble mission “Empowering People”.
Mr. V Manoharan the Founder and Visionary of the Trust is a well-known name in the business environs of South Tamilnadu known for his credibility and integrity. Known for his philanthropy in the district and the neighborhood over the past many years he has helped in the upbringing of many a poor child in their studies until higher education, given employment to many deserving youngsters in his various concerns. Now he has taken up the cause of women and their empowerment through education by his present endeavour of this Women’s College.
VeluManoharanhas an incredible Vision of creating a cosmopolitan outlook in every girl that joins the College. It aims at providing a strong moral foundation for the development of the girl’s personality, without getting into the polemics of religion. The inculcation of the spirit of tolerance along with the determination to achieve & the desire to excel in all the endeavors of life through COMPETENCE without compromising on CHARACTER is his inspiring agenda of empowering women and he deliberates that through this Enlightened Empowerment everything in life is Possible and Reachable.
Mr.V.M.Parthasarathy, Vice Chairman of Velumanoharan Arts and Science College for women is an active member of the VMHAE trust and is the backbone of all the activities undertaken for the development of the college. He is a man with the distinctive vision of supporting rural students with quality educationand on steering theinstitution successfully.
The Secretary of Velumanoharan Arts and science college for women Mrs.Shakuntala, the daughter-in-law of the founder, holds the degree in the field of information technology and has been closely associated with a vision to impart holistic education to women. With the motto of “Empowering women for change”, she aims in imparting values, ethics, confidence and courage in young womento find a position for them worldwide.Her inexorable support and involvement in exploring women's inherited talents paves a strong foundation for a continual progress of women's educationfrom arts, science, sports and from entrepreneurship to community service.
